BIOGRAPHY

Rianna Henriques is an experienced woodwind doubler, holding a Master of Performance degree in flute from the Royal College of Music, awarded in July 2025, and a Joint Principal Study Bachelor of Music degree in flute and saxophone, awarded in July 2023, attained with a full scholarship.

​

Throughout her career, Rianna has received numerous prestigious awards and scholarships, including those from the Drake Calleja Trust, Help Musicians Postgraduate Fund, the Craxton Memorial Trust, and the Kathleen Trust. Preceding these, Rianna was awarded the RCM Junior Department’s Sally Wainwright Woodwind Prize and the Sarah Markham Saxophone Award, and from Alleyn’s School, the WJ Smith Music Scholarship.

A recognised talent in her industry, in 2018, Rianna was selected as one of eight London Philharmonic Orchestra Junior Artists. Her performance repertoire includes a renowned solo appearance at St John’s Smith Square, where she performed Bizet/Borne’s Fantaisie Brillante sur Carmen, and a recital in the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room. She has graced some of the world’s finest venues, including Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Ronnie Scott’s, and the Jazz Café, alongside international performances at the Elbphilharmonie (Hamburg) and David Geffen Hall (New York).

Rianna frequently performs with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Factory International, and the Chineke! Orchestra. She fulfilled duties as both cover Musical Director and the woodwind chair for the RSC’s production of Pericles, performed at the Swan Theatre and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater.

Her growing presence in television and film includes collaborations with BBC Radio 3, Vogue, and Netflix. In 2024, she toured internationally with RAYE, performing at major events such as the BRIT Awards, the Jonathan Ross Show, Capital FM’s Summertime Ball, Reading and Leeds Festivals, and BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend. Rianna also plays with Jasmine Myra’s band, appearing at prestigious festivals such as the Montreux Jazz Festival Residency, Stockholm Jazz Festival, Love Supreme, and We Out Here. Rianna’s extensive collaborations also include working with Jorja Smith, Clean Bandit, Craig David, Beverley Knight, and Hermeto Pascoal.

​TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Rianna recently achieved a distinction in her ABRSM Principals of Instrumental Teaching exam and has had years of experience teaching and educating both younger, and older pupils. Pupils for Rianna are long-standing, the students she is currently teaching are a range of ages and have been a pupil of Rianna for well over a year. Rianna is open to teaching learners of all ages and abilities, and for as long or short-term as they desire.​
