BIOGRAPHY

Rianna Henriques is an experienced woodwind doubler. She graduated from the Royal College of Music with a Distinction in Master of Performance in July 2025, preceded by a Joint Principal Study Bachelor of Music (Honours) in flute and saxophone as a full scholar in July 2023. Rianna’s master’s degree was supported by the Help Musicians Postgraduate Award, the Drake Calleja Trust, Craxton Memorial Trust, and Kathleen Trust. Her earlier accolades include the RCM Junior Department’s Sally Wainwright Woodwind Prize, the Sarah Markham Saxophone Award, and the Alleyn’s School WJ Smith Music Scholarship.

Her solo performance highlights include a coffee morning recital at the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room and a flute recital for the National Gallery’s 200th anniversary celebrations. Rianna has performed at major venues including Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, Ronnie Scott’s, and the Jazz Café, as well as internationally, at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg and David Geffen Hall at New York’s Lincoln Center.

Rianna regularly performs with Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, most recently in Troilus & Cressida. In December 2025, she appeared as flautist and ensemble in Factory International’s F*****s and their Friends between Revolutions at the Park Avenue Armory in New York. She also served as cover Musical Director and wind chair for the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of Pericles, featuring Alfred Enoch and later Zach Wyatt, performed at the Swan Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater.

The National Youth Jazz Orchestra commissioned Rianna to arrange Ian Carr’s “Roots”, performed with Nikki Yeoh at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club and Milton Court as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival. She also performs with Jasmine Myra’s band, with festival appearances including the Montreux Jazz Festival Residency, Stockholm Jazz Festival, EFG London Jazz Festival, Love Supreme, and We Out Here.

Rianna is increasingly active in the television and film industry and has been scouted by BBC Radio 3, Vogue, and Netflix. In June 2025, she performed with J Hus and Little Simz alongside the Chineke! Orchestra. Rianna toured internationally as the tenor saxophonist in RAYE’s band, performing at the BRIT Awards, Capital FM’s Summertime Ball, BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, and The Jonathan Ross Show. In May 2023, Rianna featured in an orchestral performance of “If I Ain’t Got You” with Alicia Keys, celebrating the release of Netflix’s Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. Additional collaborators include Jorja Smith, Clean Bandit, Craig David and Hermeto Pascoal.

Rianna recently achieved a distinction in her ABRSM Principals of Instrumental Teaching exam and has had years of experience teaching and educating both younger, and older pupils. Pupils for Rianna are long-standing, the students she is currently teaching are a range of ages and have been a pupil of Rianna for well over a year. Rianna is open to teaching learners of all ages and abilities, and for as long or short-term as they desire.​
