About the event
[Gig time and location TBD]
Jasmine Myra is a saxophonist, composer and band leader, now based in London, and one of the UK Jazz’s rising stars. Originally part of the bustling cross-genre music scene in Leeds (she attended Leeds Conservatoire), she surrounded herself with some of the best young talent from the city. Her original instrumental music is influenced by artists as diverse as Kenny Wheeler, Bonobo, Ólafur Arnalds and Moses Sumney. Myra says her music often explores the duality of life: its moments of beauty sat alongside darkness, its fullness and its emptiness. “Rising” (Gondwana, 2024), her second album, was very well received. “For times like these, this is exactly the kind of music we need” (UK Jazz News)
